5 long weekends
A long weekend here means three or more rest days in a row that include at least one national public holiday falling on a weekday. In Mexico in 2026 that happens 5 times: 31 Jan–02 Feb (3 days), 14 Mar–16 Mar (3 days), 01 May–03 May (3 days), 14 Nov–16 Nov (3 days), 25 Dec–27 Dec (3 days). Weekends alone do not count — the streak must contain a public holiday that removes a working day.
| Dates | Days off | Caused by | Holiday pages | Month working-day count |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sat 31 Jan – Mon 02 Feb | 3 | Día de la Constitución | Constitution Day | January 2026 count |
| Sat 14 Mar – Mon 16 Mar | 3 | Natalicio de Benito Juárez | Benito Juárez's birthday | March 2026 count |
| Fri 01 May – Sun 03 May | 3 | Día del Trabajo | Labour Day | May 2026 count |
| Sat 14 Nov – Mon 16 Nov | 3 | Día de la Revolución | Revolution Day | November 2026 count |
| Fri 25 Dec – Sun 27 Dec | 3 | Navidad | Christmas Day | December 2026 count |
The rest days are Saturdays, Sundays and the national public holidays listed on the Mexico 2026 holiday list. Where a holiday falls on a weekend, only substitute days that appear in that list extend a streak; the site does not invent substitute days.
