A long weekend here means three or more rest days in a row that include at least one national public holiday falling on a weekday. In Germany in 2026 that happens 4 times: 03 Apr–06 Apr (4 days), 01 May–03 May (3 days), 23 May–25 May (3 days), 25 Dec–27 Dec (3 days). Weekends alone do not count — the streak must contain a public holiday that removes a working day.
